Additional Information

Purpose

Provide administrative support for the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative DROPPS program. Responsible for complex office decisions, develop and plan work assignments, proof reading and compiling information for reports.

Essential Functions

Assist with quarterly and other required financial and progress reports. Assist with organizing conference calls and meetings, including assisting with meeting logistics, travel and other arrangements; maintaining communication with co-investigator. Maintain financial records and prepare quarterly financial and research progress reports. Assist with data management, maintenance and updating of web site, and with outreach activities as needed.

Marginal/Incidental functions

Other related functions as assigned.

Required qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level, or high school graduation or GED, and five years of clerical experience, including one year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. One year of full-time equivalent applicable experience may be substituted for each thirty semester hours of college credit earned, or vice versa, however, a minimum of one year of applicable experience is required. General knowledge of UT regulations. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and familiarity with marine science terminology.

A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
