General Summary

The Construction Scheduler will work with the Project Manager to create timetables to manage both time and resources to ensure work is completed on time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and translate project scope and contract requirements into working schedules

• Technical advisor with respect to schedule development, updating, and reporting

• Work with others to develop and maintain two, three and/or six-week look-ahead schedules

• Prepare baseline schedules and schedule basis documents for approval

• Monitor schedule deviations, and variances and assist in developing alternate methods for corrective action

• Prepare and provide schedule progress reports, trending charts, and schedule analysis on a periodic basis

• Maintain record of scope changes, trends, and variances that potentially affect schedule performance

• Assure credibility of the information contained in the schedule

• Review schedules on a regular basis to ensure that accurate and timely data is incorporated in the schedule

• Verify schedule integrity and evaluate logic and float paths

• Make recommendations to manage float and (re)sequence activities (if required) to achieve project milestone dates and interim target completion dates

• Analyze and produce deliverables to support change order requests, schedule recoveries, and potential claims

• Participate in project meetings at the discretion of Management

• Comply with departmental scheduling practices and procedures

• At the completion of the project, develop and record the project's historical schedule information and lessons learned‚ for future use

• Additional duties as required

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a related field and

• At least five (5) years of relevant construction scheduling work experience or ten

years of equivalent work experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job

• Must have experience with self-performing construction activities for construction projects

• Mastery of the Primavera Scheduling Software (P6)

• Change orders and claims management experience

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies

• Strong written and verbal communications skills, especially with a history of technical writing for construction proposals

• Ability to travel based on business needs

Work Environment

• Work environment is a typical office setting

• Physical demands include intermittent sitting, standing, and walking, and occasional bending reaching and lifting

• Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc. but generally not to the point of being disagreeable
