Summary / Overview:
This position is for a Cost Engineer in the Metals Department. In this job, you will be responsible for the management of the Metals parts budget, inventory and supply chain.
Monitor spending to ensure monthly targets are achieved for spare parts, raw materials and Repair and Maintenance.
Manage department cost reduction activities
Perform gap analysis in spending and savings and work with equipment owners and management to drive improvements
Ensure accurate tracking of parts and cost of ownership per tool/assembly
Manage and monitor mix/max levels for optimal inventory of consumables
Monitor part delivery and repair loop speed while providing clear communication to team on expected deliveries of high priority parts
Identifying alternate sourcing and repair opportunities for high cost parts
Identify and maintain safe inventory levels for low usage items to limit productivity losses
Accurately forecast raw material usage
Work with the SCM team and Cost Innovation on FAB wide initiatives
Generate reports and presentations on department activities and performance to plan
Specific Job Duties:
Responsibilities include: Data collection, analysis, and cross functional collaboration on Metals/factory wide improvement projects; monitoring and improving performance in cost reduction of raw materials, spare parts, repairs & maintenance, and other projects in the field of supply chain, cost, and resource efficiency.
The position will require an extensive amount of time working directly with and supporting the engineering SDWT functions.
The role will include membership on teams that involve Cost Per Move (CPM) reduction, supply chain (SCM), and other related projects/task force teams.
Expectation is to have proficiency in project management, forecasting, repair loops, second sourcing, inventory management, department budgets, or other related systems or business functions that impact cost.
Study opportunities and drive implementation with the Metals engineering teams, including 2nd source qualification, lifetime extension, usage reduction, repair loops and price negotiations.
Support the following departments: Finance, Cost Innovation, and S1 counterparts.
Project management, cost reporting, and status updates.
S1/S2 cost comparison and collaboration on analysis and improvement projects.
Support improvements to modeling and forecasting performance of expenses.
Lead or participate in Lean Macro project within Metals when opportunities present themselves.
Communicate the results of analysis, drive improvements and share with peers, managers, and executives.
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required:
- BS degree in Engineering, or related field of study (Industrial Engineering)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools:
Deep understanding of supply chain management
Must have strong communication, teamwork, analytical and problem solving skills
Highly capable in MS Word, Excel and Power Point; VBA / SQL a plus
Coding ability strongly desired (reports)
Focused on continuous improvement in fast-paced, changing environment
High level of initiative and desire to learn
Successful candidates will be detail and task oriented and place high value on customer service, team work and flexibility.
Ability to meet due dates for action items
Must be punctual
Proficient in the use of Lean and statistical analysis practices.
CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management) Certification a plus
Semiconductor Raw Material supply chain or forecasting knowledge a plus
SAP Experience a plus
300mm Metals experience and familiarity with AMAT Endura platforms, Tel Trias, Canon or ASM Emerald platforms.
Knowledge of basic statistical analysis
Ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritize work.
Knowledge of UNIX/NT administration and troubleshooting skills are plus
Fluency in Korean language is a plus
