VMware Field Marketing Leader, US Commercial and Canadian Markets in Austin, Texas
This highly visible and strategic role will be responsible for executing marketing strategies to deliver double digit revenue growth in the US Commercial and Canadian markets, including the support of our Inside Sales go-to-market teams. This role will also lead the AMS telemarketing team-both inbound and outbound, as well as work with sales to continue to drive and deliver the quarterly sales play strategy. This function partners with his/her sales leadership counterparts to align on strategies to engage targeted accounts and personas at scale, as well as working to partner and ensuring that the partners in the field support delivery of the goals for these markets.
Focus on strategies to accelerate growth for our commercial and Canadian business segments, driving campaigns and promotions to deliver accelerated lead generation strategies.
Develop and create a marketing strategy that is in alignment with field leaders, with a strong emphasis in digital lead generation to drive scale
Lead a team of field and solution marketing managers to build the marketing strategy and execute the annual marketing plan
Help evolve and deliver ongoing strategy with the telemarketing and sales plays team.
Attain and exceed marketing KPIs including Marketing Sourced Pipeline and Partner Generated Pipeline, creating leads that sales will accept and deliver for the business.
Align with sales on the accounts to target, messages to land, and vehicles to deliver including digital and event programs -both virtual and face to face opportunities.
Secure and allocate marketing budgets.
Engage key partners and align marketing efforts accordingly in the field, including strategic alliances and service providers, resellers, DMRs, and distribution.
Ensure all programs are locked and ready to execute day 1 of any given quarter.
Accountability to manage budget and show ROI.
Be an integral part of the AMS leadership team and help create innovative synergies and support growth and change in the business.
BA/BS with 15 years of experience in B2B marketing, including operations, sales development, digital marketing and partner marketing, with extensive field experience.
Proven leader in digital lead generation programs in commercial segment to drive scale and create acceleration.
Experience leading a team of marketing professionals and creating a growth and innovative culture for the segment, under budgetary constraints
Vast understanding and experience in the commercial segment, buying patterns, requirements, and benefit articulation
Deep understanding of modern marketing techniques including, multi-touch outbound, social selling, omni-channel nurture, predictive lead scoring, content, etc.
Excellent listening and responding skills, communication skills, strategic focus, executive presence, and customer empathy Experience developing plans for expansion and business development, transformational leadership and approaches a must.
Willingness to take strategic risks, acting to acquire new customers, yet manage expectations to meet goals
Collaborate with and coordinate within a matrix-ed and diverse team environment (marketing, sales, customer service – are we really expecting them to engage with customer service? etc.)
Excellent relational skills, working tirelessly to build and maintain beneficial partnerships with key stakeholders; collaborator with marketing, product teams, sales and partners who understands the value of organizational alignment in achieving long term goals.
Proven experience in working in virtual settings across large geographic areas; demonstrated cultural awareness and diversity skill
Strong working knowledge of using data to monitor performance of commercial activities, reporting results to senior management, and able to be agile enough to make changes as necessary to meet KPIs.
Strategic development and critical thinking skills needed to assist in setting financial targets, developing budgets, and monitoring compliance, outstanding analytical skills
Strong leadership and management skills a must for an experienced team
Ability to self-motivate and self-direct
Comfortable operating in a complex, multi-product focused environment
