Overall Objective and Purpose:

The HR Business Partner will be a trusted consultant to our employees and managers, using their HR expertise and consulting skills to solve business challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of motivation, ability to communicate, ability to influence, collaborate effectively with all levels and demonstrate a willingness to be "hands-on".

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach and consult with managers and employees by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solution; coaching and counseling managers and employees as needed. (Performance development, employee engagement/morale).

  • Conduct and manage investigations of complaints and concerns, assess root causes and recommend appropriate next steps including corrective action as needed.

  • Partner with management team to determine, deploy, and analyze organizational assessments (e.g., Employee Pulse Checks, performance consulting tools/metrics, training) to provide data-driven recommendations to managers.

  • Deliver training programs to business units as needed or in partnership with corporate training group.

  • Works closely with finance to manage headcount/salary budget.

  • Provide oversight of the staffing process including salary recommendations and approvals.

  • Drive the annual performance, compensation review and sales incentive process for assigned groups.

  • Assist with regular leadership and succession planning sessions and implement action plans to ensure succession ready bench and development of high potentials.

  • Support fellow HR employees on projects that support designated client groups and/or company-wide HR initiatives.

  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Interprets and applies company personnel policies, facilitates HR initiatives, conducts HR support functions such as orientation sessions, exit interviews and preparing and presenting unemployment claims.

  • Serves as contact for employees; answers question regarding policies and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Additional HR Certification from recognized professional affiliation is desirable.

  • 5 - 7 years of experience as a Generalist/HR Business Partner performing all aspects of HR.


  • Demonstrated success working in a fast paced, matrix environment, with a track record of accomplishments with measurable business impact.

  • Experience with change management practices and organizational design and development.

  • Full knowledge of legal implications of the employment relationship.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and utilize data to influence business decisions.

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with continuous improvement practices.

  • Demonstrated facilitation skills.

  • Excellent project management skills.

  • Office Experience – Microsoft Office, Reporting Skills, Verbal Communication, Administrative and Writing Skills.
