Client Software GTM Marketing Consultant – Round Rock, TX

The Client Software Product Group is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of marketing strategies, communications and initiatives that generate demand for third-party software products sold on Dell systems at point-of-sale. This includes developing strategies to increase attach and upsells in new geographies, segments, and channels.

This role is critical in growing software partner revenue by increasing partner attach globally. The role will partner with a variety of roles within the Consumer and Commercial organizations, including Sales, Marketing, Partner Marketing, Partner Software, Procurement, Merchandising, Online, Cycle Planning, Finance and CRM to drive performance and identify new opportunities.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Product Management –Development and execution of product pricing, placement, promotions and messaging to drive product strategy.

  • Partner Management – Engaging with software partner on a regular basis to align on strategy and forecasted KPI/product mix. Develop new products/programs to meet future needs and negotiate royalties, program terms, funding and performance metrics in contracts.

  • Sales Expansion – Identify opportunities for incremental growth in channels including Direct and Indirect channels. Work with the CSB and Commercial Sales organizations to develop and execute strategies to grow software sales in those channels.

  • Sales Management – Develop relationships with sales leadership to ensure they are aware of revenue/margin contribution to their P&L, create sales strategy, report on progress and revise as needed.

  • Funding Management – Forecast partner funding, create marketing activity plan, ensure compliance of all activities, and coordinate with software business leads to track execution of plan and timely delivery of “proof of execution” to software partners.

  • Data analysis with actionable insights to improve demand.

  • Identification & lead in gap analysis & recommended actions for GTM strategy.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related area plus 5-10 years of experience in marketing with a track record of measurable results preferably in the consumer electronics/retail marketing or IT industry/technology

  • MBA Preferred

  • Thorough understanding of marketing vehicles and GTM strategy

  • Strong business acumen, executive presentations and data analytic skills

  • Experience with marketing ROI and optimization

  • Project management experience
