Job Description

BAE Systems is looking for a Value Stream Specialist (VSS) to lead the Training Coordination for their Austin, Texas facility. The VSS role is responsible for on-boarding personnel at the Austin Facility. The VSS will be responsible for activities such as planning, organizing, implementing, leading, and managing activities within a team-based environment. Major areas of responsibility include working with other VSSs, Managers, Talent Acquisition and HR to create requisitions for Contract and Permanent Exempt employees. Other responsibilities include:

  • Working with Talent Acquisitions to schedule interviews with potential candidates and hiring Managers

  • Working with HR and Hiring Managers to schedule on-boarding dates for employees

  • Hosting group training sessions for new employees, presenting both online and verbal courses

  • Compiling reports of on-boarding and On the Job (OJT) status for management

  • Other administrative duties as required

Maintain an effective, flexible, and efficient organization while effectively communicating responsibilities and objectives to employees. Work effectively with other functional groups and Managers to meet critical business needs. The ability to work flexible hours and days to meet objectives is highly desirable. Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Coordinating and negotiating with diverse cross-functional work teams

  • Training individuals and teams

  • Establishing and Monitoring performance to targets

  • Managing multiple tasks and priorities

Excellent computer skills

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Hiring, developing, coaching, and leading high-performing team

  • Experience leading Kaizen teams and applying lean principles

  • Lean Six Sigma green belt certification

  • Supply Chain, Program Management, and/or Quality experience

  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 class 3 requirements

  • Experience with manufacturing operations including assembly, support, or management roles

  • Experience with interview management practices including posting job requisitions, selecting candidates for interview, and scheduling interviews with hiring managers.
